Psychedelics: Myth vs Medicine

Psychedelic medicines have been used in various forms for thousands of years in Indigenous communities all over the world and can profoundly affect the mind and body and our ability to heal. While they may offer meaningful therapeutic possibilities, they can also carry significant risks when approached without adequate knowledge, intention, and care.

During this two-hour webinar, that I was invited to do for the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP) I explore:

  • Common myths and misconceptions surrounding psychedelics
  • How psychedelic medicines may affect the mind and body
  • Potential benefits, risks, and limitations
  • The importance of informed, intentional, and conscious use
  • Considerations for psychotherapists interested in this evolving area of practice
  • The difference between how the Western down uses psychedelics versus how the Indigenous world has used it for centuries.

There is a $40 fee to watch the webinar payable to OSRP. You can access the replay of the webinar using this link: https://osrp.ca/event-6845050
